30-08-2009 SCRIBBLERS PICNIC STIRLING

Again this year the Scribblers Picnic held at the Stirling Rugby Club was a tremendous day out. With all the bands playing free for this fantastic charity event for musicians helping the fight against cancer. If you have never been then make a note for next years Scribblers Picnic as it is a great family day out.

There are two music tents and the mainstage and the diverse music from young and old is unbelievable. The entrance fee is well worth while when you realise how many bands are here performing. Apart from the bands there are many trade tents and this year Strathleven Artizans joined in, they were kept busy as there was a good crowd at the event.

The music is obviously the highlight of the proceedings and on the main stage we had fourteen brilliant acts, The standard was exceptional, to mention but a few Double Trouble were a couple of young boys were terrific, as were Stageworx Showcase and Albannach put in a scintillating shift again, and of course Ted Christopher and Bannockburn stole the show with his all time Scottish favourites and a big Tartan Army Party medley of songs.

Well done to the organisers, I could recommend this to everyone.
