14-03-2010 DAVID R ROSS MEMORIAL CONCERT

First of all a big thank you to all who came to the David Ross memorial night.

The Evening was started by an introduction from Ted Christopher.
Ted then proceeded to sing a few songs to get the evening underway.
We were then entertained by Gordon Aitkin on the bodrahn singing songs of the Wallace.

Christine Grahame MSP  graced the stage to update us all on the petition of the "Safe Conduct Letter"
This was Passion of David Ross & Gary Stewart.
Gary Stewart & ...../....MSP both spoke of the importance of getting this letter back to Scotland and what it meant to David Ross.

Michael Martin gave us his rendition of "Tam oh Shanter" and for those not there......
well this was simply "mind blowing" an absolutely outstanding performance!

There was a auction  held to raise funds for David's projects, some of the items in the Auction included some personal belongings of David's.
There was a piece of Mel Gibsons kilt up for auction also.
All items in the Auction were sold off...........eventually!.........as there was one bidder who liked to keep adding a £1 at the last second of each bid!.......Cheers Thomas!!!!

We were Entertained later in the Evening by the Fabulous Albannach.
They were as usual, simply fantastic with no room left on the dance floor!

Ted Christopher had very special suprise for the audience........a recording of David Ross made last year with Ted, this was a very moving and a fitting tribute to the Big Man.
You could hear a pin drop when Ted played the recording.

During the course of the evening we were joined by 30/40 of our American cousins,
who were over on a tour of the "Old Country".
........./......... of the Americans took to the stage to tell us what David Ross meant to him and his fellow country men, he also opened his hand to keep the hands of friendship ongoing as this is what David would have wanted, and invited the Audience over to America.

The evening was completed with Ted taking to the stage once more and all of the Audience on the dance floor linked arm in arm, in a final and very fitting tribute to the Big Man........
THE ONE AND ONLY DAVID R ROSS- GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.

A BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU TO KIMBERLEY & SHONA.
ALSO A BIG THANK YOU, TO TED CHRISTOPHER AND ALBANNACH & ZIGGY.
