02-08-2008 BLUE LAMP ABERDEEN (Tartan Day Celebrations)

To round off our Tartan Day, evening entertainment had been organised by Aberdeen North SNP at The Blue Lamp, Gallowgate, Aberdeen. We joined others there to see Ted “The Much Better Than Elvis” Christopher. The audience numbered around 60 people. Some had never heard Ted before while others of us were true fans. Ted didn’t disappoint any of the audience and I think it was one of the most enjoyable evenings I have taken part in. Ted sung a great array of songs and had us all on our feet singing our heads off. The Fraserburgh contingent of the Tartan Army were in fine voice and were delighted to help Ted out with the Tartan Army songs. We had a grand supper of Stovies which helped to sustain us for the second half of the night. It all too soon came to an end in the wee small hours and we all headed for our beds after a very long, full and enjoyable days participation.
