20-06-2009 BANNOCKBURN COMMEMORATION

The annual march for the commemoration of Bannockburn was this year was from the 1314 pub as owing to roadworks in Stirling the longer march couldn't go ahead.

There were plenty of flags and banners on view as the march almalgamated outside the pub. Lead by Siol members they took off and walked past the bowling green and onto the battle site, including other groups from Crann Tara, Strathleven Artizans Clann Gaidhealach, SNP Stirling Branch, The Society of William Wallace and the Scottish Knights Templars.

Wreaths were layed by various groups and then owing to the official headquarters of the SNP pulling out it seemed to be a big disapointment for the many that gathered. Clanadonia arrived and played some stirring music for the crowds.

Then we all went to the Tartan Arms where the legendry Ted Christopher, Gaberlunzie and Clanadonia played some fantastic music and had the whole place clapping and stamping their feet.
