STRATHLEVEN ARTIZANS CEILIDH 29-03-2008

Strathleven Artizans ceilidh dance on Saturday 29/3/08 was a great success approx 90 people turned up and had a great night.
The night started off  with  a new line up due to some last minute call offs, circumstances beyond our control, the night started off with a local band called White Wolf who we must thank for stepping in at such short notice. The band played some excellent traditional Scottish music they went down well with the growing crowd.
Up next was the Artizan karaoke (only kidding) Big JP (John Patterson) gave us his now famous Wallace song which went down well, he was then joined by wee Alex( ?) for a few songs, then Arthur Murdoch and Gordon Aitken from Falkirk sang his own song about the Good Sir James Douglas which was great, then one of the highlights of a great evening was completed by the outstanding Clann An Drumma who play a fantastic 45 min set in which they blew the roof off the hall,a good few folk in the hall had never heard them before but certainly know them now, they went down a Storm, after a short break for the buffet, ten pence at the bottle (whiskey) ?? an then the raffle, this was the biggest raffle in history
over 30 prizes ? the band White Wolf went back on for another excellent set.
The Kings (KR Bruce) Piper Philip Barlow played the pipes, then we had the champion Drum Majors do a excellent display which had the place jumping
The evening was then finished off with some more Renton/Artizans Karaoke.

The committee of Strathleven Artizans would like to THANK White Wolf, Clann An Drumma, the Drum Majors, Big JP, wee Alex, Arthur and Gordon, Philip Barlow and the Barlow family, Jean for the catering, Eleanor and Lynn at the door, and our filmmaker Mr Paul Hunter.
